Drain & Clean

How often should I clean my filter?

Spa Inspector recommends that you clean your filter once a month. Having an extra filter clean and ready to place in the canister can make cleaning your filter easy. If you have many soakers in your tub you may want to clean your filter more frequently.

How often should I replace my filter?

Spa Inspector recommends that you clean your filter twice a month. If you have many bathers in your tub you may want to clean your filter more frequently.

Why does foam form in my spa/hot tub?

Foam in a spa is a very common problem. Foam can be caused by laundry soap residue in bathing suits, body oils, hair products, and deodorants to name a few.

How often should I drain my spa?

Your spa should be drained three or four times a year to ensure clean and healthy hot tubbing.

What is the correct temperature for my spa?

The maximum safe water temperature for adults should never be over 104°. Most people find a comfortable temperature of somewhere between 100° to 102°.

Where should I store my chemicals?

Chemicals are best kept in a cool, dry and well ventilated area. Never keep your chemicals under the shirt of your spa. Always remember to keep chemicals away from the reach of children and pets. Read and follow all directions on the chemical labels.

What should I check if my spa does not heat?

Check to see when you last cleaned or replaced your filter. Check what temperature you have your thermostat set. Are you keeping your spa covered? Without a cover the heat can escape causing the spa water to cool.

I see small drips of water at the equipment, should I get it repaired now or later?

If your spa is leaking getting it repaired now could save you a larger repair bill later. The problem could be as inexpensive as a replacement seal.

It is always a good idea to have your spa, hot tub or pool checked regularly by a trained professional.
